$80,000 Raised for Charity at Dormie Day of Giving Events

With the final 2020 Dormie Network Day of Giving event wrapped, we are proud to announce members and guests have raised $80,000 in net proceeds to be distributed to Folds of Honor, Youth on Course, and local chapters of The First Tee.

Each network club hosted an event this fall, featuring tournaments with 25 four-player scramble teams. High-stakes prizes such as memberships, stay and plays, and vehicles were awarded to participants who snagged holes in one.

How Dormie Network membership gives back
Beyond the Day of Giving events, Dormie Network members help support dozens of other local and national nonprofits.

At the beginning of the year, the network announced its pledge to donate more than $5.5 million to nonprofit organizations across the country through in-kind gifts, in an ongoing commitment to give back, grow the game of golf, and support the communities that support us.

From the in-kind donations that were made, the network has been able to realize more than $1,185,000 in donation revenue for nonprofit partners since the initiative’s launch in February. Memberships that have been activated have created additional economic impact, most notably in the travel and service sector, areas that have been adversely affected during the coronavirus pandemic.

Next steps for the Dormie Network Giving Initiative
The network has already committed to Dormie Day of Giving event dates at each club for 2021, giving members and other regional golfers even more opportunity to support the Dormie Network Foundation, who in turn will be able to grant funds received to non-profit organizations. The first event will be held at Briggs Ranch in San Antonio on Monday, March 15.

Next year, as the Giving Initiative evolves and grows, the Dormie Network Foundation intends to explore grants to organizations in the areas of youth golf, environmental causes, military/first responders, and healthcare/humanitarian. Chief Philanthropy Officer Brian Schenk and team are also planning additional fundraising opportunities that will continue to grow the giving amounts the foundation will be able to support.
